DAY 1

The wonder starts as you fly over the Himalayas, before arriving in Bhutan. The flight to Paro is spectacular, with sights like Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchanjunga, Mt. Makalu and other peaks in Bhutan such as Mt. Chomolhari, Mt. Jichu Drakay, and Mt. Tsherimgang. Once you touch down at Thimphu, the only traffic-light-free capital city in the world, you’ll meet your guide who will kick off your adventure with stops at various nearby dzongs.

DAY 2

You’ll make your way around the capital city. Thimphu has much to offer mystified explorers. From the National Library to the Traditional Painting School and the Folk Heritage Museum. Later in the day, you’ll head to Punakha Dzong and visit the Dho Jha Gha Lam Temple.

DAY 3

Today, you’ll find yourself in Trongsa Dzong, the most impressive monastery-fortress in Bhutan. Built in 1644 by the Shabdrung, the dzong is an architectural masterpiece. After admiring the sights, you’ll make your way down to Bumthang Valley, the heartland of Buddhism, where the great teachers have medidated and left many sacred grounds.

DAY 4

You’ll go on a pilgrimage through some of Bumthang’s sacred sites like Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

DAY 5

Today you’ll visit Gangtey Gompa, which now houses one of the only Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan. The valley is also the winter home to the rare black-necked cranes (Grus Nicorocolis), which migrate, from remote parts of Tibet, China and Siberia to winter in this valley.

DAY 6

Explore Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, built by the Queen of Bhutan for peace and stability, before making your way to Punakha Dzong. When you make you way back to Paro, you can visit a farmhouse to try traditional drinks and snacks.

DAY 7

In the morning your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight onwards.
