An Overview of Your Adventure
DAY 1
When you get to Paro, your tour guide from Diethelm Travel will be there to welcome you and show you the way to your hotel. Make sure to check out the awesome Ta Dzong – it’s one of the top natural museums in South Asia – and take a look at the amazing Lhakhang at Dungtse.
DAY 2
On your way to Thimphu the capital of Bhutan, make a pit-stop at the Tachogang temple. In Thimphu you will be able to visit the memorial chorten, the Takin preserve, the BBS tower, and the takhichhodzong.
DAY 3
Take a day trip to Tango monastery, check out Bhutan Post famous for its stamps, visit the national library, visit the National Folk Heritage museum, and take a look at the institute for zorig chusum (painting school).
DAY 4
Punakha is reached through the Dochula pass, where you can visit the Druk wangyel chorten, the Chimi lhakhang and the spectacular Punakha dzong.
DAY 5
If you’re looking for a winter getaway, why not check out Gangtey? It’s home to the endangered Black Necked Crane, and it’s also a great place to visit if you’re visiting Lhewang lhakhang.
DAY 6
Drive back to Paro through picturesque countryside and stop at an old-fashioned farmhouse for drinks and refreshments.
DAY 7
Your guide will accompany you to the airport in Paro for your onward flight.
