AirAsia launches Tinder campaign to woo New Zealanders to Malaysia

Share

Low-cost carrier AirAsia has launched the “Meet Malaysia” sweepstakes via Tinder. Beginning in late April, New Zealand-based users of the popular dating app can “swipe right” on the campaign’s profile to be entered into a drawing to win a trip to Malaysia for two people, and tickets to the Borneo Jazz Festival or Rainforest World Music Festival.

AirAsia hopes this “cheeky” campaign will lure travellers who may be more familiar with other Southeast Asia destinations like Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, to visit Malaysia instead and be swept off their feet. AirAsia currently operates seven flights per week from Auckland to Kuala Lumpur with onward connections to another fifteen Malaysian destinations.
