Share

This is new tour, with both private and SIC pricing as well as English, German and French speaking guides, is an excellent option as a 3-day ‘module’ from Bangkok for guests who want to experience more of local life in central Thailand.

Filled with unique experiences and interactions exclusive to Diethelm Travel Thailand, you’ll witness local life outside of the capital – like visiting the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market and Mae Klong Railway Market, supplementing the income of palm sugar and khao lam (flavoured sticky rice) producers, enjoying lunch at a welcoming homestay and more.

Highlights include:

  • Scenic river cruise up to Ayutthaya
  • Visiting a Thai boxing training school
  • Seeing a wood carving village and drum making enterprise
  • Savouring dinner in a homestay and trying your hand in their kitchen
  • Travelling on a train straight into the Mae Klong market
  • Wandering through the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market
  • Visiting a conversation centre and witnessing the sight of hundreds of monkeys swimming in the sea

It’s important to note that the visit to the popular the Mae Klong train market is done a little differently to the others as guests are actually on board the train when it enters the market, instead of standing with the crowds at the market waiting for the train to pass through.

Additionally, the 3-day experience supports several local responsible community tourism initiatives through visiting a small homestay with the hosts providing a cooking experience, orchard tour and lunch, as well as visiting a local palm sugar producer and, in turn, helping supplement their income.
