Thailand’s national parks ban plastic and foam

Share

Thailand’s Department of National Parks announced on their Facebook page that they have banned the use of all plastic and foam in all national parks, includes marine parks and forest parks, starting from 8 June 2018. While some national parks have previously allowed single-use plastic and Styrofoam boxes in some areas of the park, this will no longer be allowed.

The ban comes after headline news of a whale that died in southern Thailand that had 8 kilogrammes of plastic inside its stomach.
