An Overview of Your Adventure
DAY 1
Head to Paro and make your way to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu. Here, you’ll get to see a mix of classic architecture and picturesque scenery. Check out some of the city’s highlights, like Zhangangkha temple, Memorial chorten, and Kuensel phodrang. Plus, you can check out the Centenary farmer’s market in Thimpu.
DAY 2
Explore the stunning views of the Valley of Gwal Rinpoche from the start of your hike to Tango monastery. Make sure to take in the sights of Bhutan, including the post office, the national library, the national folk heritage museum, and the institute for zorig chusum, or ‘painting school’.
DAY 3
Take a drive through the beautiful Dochula Mountain pass on your way to the valley of Punakha. Check out some of the most beautiful places to visit, like Druk Waghle Chorten and Chimi Lchakhang, as well as the stunning Dzong Punakha, which is home to a lot of holy relics.
DAY 4
Explore the Punakha valley with a trip to Khamsum yulley namgyal chorten, a visit to Sangchen Dorji lhendrup nunnery, and some time to chill out in the evenings.
DAY 5
Head back to Paro town and check out the National Museum and Rinpung dzong, as well as the Ugyen pelri palace. Have a chill night out in Paro town.
DAY 6
Head out on a tough trek to the famous Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s nest). Afterwards, stop by the Drukgyal dzong, a nearby farmhouse, for a hot stone massage and get a taste of Bhutanese life in the countryside.
DAY 7
Say goodbye to Bhutan when you leave Paro International Airport – it’s the end of an amazing journey! Tashi delek!
