witness the Warakara waterfall during a nature trek in Ella

Share

Boasting a variety of flora and fauna, Ella is nestled on the banks of Kirindi Oya River, which meanders through Uva Province. Due to its location, Ella is the perfect setting for both a range of adventure activities or as simply a place to be still and reconnect with nature.

To reach the region’s impressive Warakara Waterfall, visitors must trek for 20 minutes through the jungle before reaching the top of the waterfall and its exotic natural pool. Jump in for a swim – it’s a tad cool but refreshing after your jungle trek! For those wishing for an extra special experience, rise early and begin your trek between 7:00 – 8:00 am, which is the perfect time for bird watching. Make sure to bring binoculars or a good camera with zoom to capture the experience.
