explore Laos’ ethnic minority villages with a Khamu homestay in Oudomxay

Share

This two-day tour offers guests a glimpse of a typical day in the life within a Khamu village, home to a local ethnic minority group known as the Khamu. By day, discover the culture and traditions of both the Khamu and nearby Hmong villages and go on an exploratory hike. By night, spend the evening at one of the local family’s rustic houses and enjoy a satisfying home-cooked meal.

Different programmes are available to choose from according to your interests and the duration of your stay. For example, the 2-Day Chom Ong Cave Tour begins near Ban Nam Haeng Village and journeys past a variety of other ethnic minority villages each with different traditions, culture and lifestyles. For an ultra-local experience, guests enjoy dinner that night and breakfast the following morning at a homestay before continuing on a trek to the Ban Chom Ong Cave and savouring an outdoor lunch in the wilderness.
