Diethelm Travel Vietnam pays annual visit to Huong La Orphanage

Share

Huong La is a home for severely disabled and displaced people, run by a group of caring Catholic nuns in Bac Ninh province. The nuns have full hearts, but they receive no formal funding to take care of these residents and often struggle to take care of residents’ basic needs like bathing, feeding and clothing. With minimal training in caring for special needs, they are not properly equipped to provide a rehabilitative environment for 25 residents who range in age from 7 to 102.

Every year Diethelm Travel Vietnam team collects basic household items such as clothes, toys and books along with donating cash to go toward purchasing rice cookers, a mucus-suction machine, diapers, washing detergent, cleaning products and more.

The team just paid another very successful trip to Huong La Orphanage on 11 September 2016 and were delighted to continue supporting the nuns and residents.
