Be picked up at your hotel by an amazingly well-restored classic motorbike and sidecar, for a memorable experience discovering Siem Reap’s countryside, flora and fauna.
After hopping in the sidecar, guests zip southwest out of Siem Reap toward Wat Pren Pagoda, passing through beautiful countryside and vibrant rice fields. Upon arrival at the Pearaing Wildlife Conservation and Bird Sanctuary, they ride through the swamp forests before hopping on a small boat and taking a trip around the dam and famous Tonle Sap to view various species of birds and herds of water buffalo.
During the relaxing 4.5-hour journey, visitors also learn how the community is working to preserve the local environment.
Pearaing, named after the huge natural dam that is believed to have been a cooling pond for elephants years ago, was officially registered and recognised as an eco-tourism site in 2015. Pearaing Biodiversity and Conservation Centre was created with the strong commitment to preserve and protect the surrounding wildlife with the participation of the local villagers, authorities and Buddhist monks. With their efforts, this place has become a peaceful home to hundreds of species, birds and fish.
