An Overview of Your Adventure
Day 1
The journey begins from Siem Reap to Battambang, a city known for its rice plantations and preserved French colonial architecture. Along the way, you’ll visit local artisans creating stone carvings and enjoy Cambodian Sticky Rice Cake. Upon arrival in Battambang, you’ll check in at the hotel. The day continues by exploring Phnom Sampov, a limestone outcrop hosting temples and the haunting Killing Caves. At sunset, thousands of bats stream out of a cave. Dinner is served at the hotel.
Day 2
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a local livelihoods tour where you’ll experience various artisanal activities such as sculpting, rice cake and wine production, and more. Afterwards, visit Wat Ek Phnom, an ancient temple surrounded by serene landscapes. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. If your adventure takes place on a weekend afternoon, you’ll be able to engage with Phare Ponleu Selpak orphan school students. After which, you’ll hop onto the Bamboo Train for a unique ride. The day ends with a “Battambang Foodie Tour,” tasting local cuisine in the city’s colonial quarter.
Day 3
After breakfast, you have several options for departure. You can either transfer to Siem Reap with a visit to the Banteay Chhmar temple, explore Phnom Penh with visits to pottery villages and the silversmith village of Koh Chen, or choose to depart to Thailand via the Prom and Ban Packard border.
