Taylor Hills Boutique Hotel unveils selection of crafted outdoor excursions

Taylor Hills, a stylish and contemporary boutique hotel in Kandy, has introduced an array of activities guests can engage in whilst enjoying the comforts of this unique dwelling. Built by a British planter named James Taylor over 100 years ago, the hotel is one of the most distinctive hotel property by Manor House Concepts and is now offering:

 

THE CEYLON TEA STORY – THE AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE

The neighbouring Loolecondera Estate is where James Taylor planted the first tea bush that started the infamous Ceylon tea industry. In the factory, you will learn the process of making tea and enjoy some the original equipment still used until today. You will also learn the art of tea plucking as you engage and interact with the local tea harvesters.

 

AMIDST THE HILLS – NATURE WALKS

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced hiker or just want to take a walk in the serenity of the surroundings, Taylor Hills has the perfect trails for you. These guided walks can be both picturesque and informative with insight into the people, religion, and landscapes of the locality including:

– Short walk trail – 1km to 2km – 1 hour for a group up to 5 persons

– Medium walk trail – 2km to 5km – 1 to 2 hours for a group up to 5 persons

– Adventure walk trail – 5km to 10km – 2 to 3 hours

 

OUTDOOR ACTIVE – MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDING

The terrain and landscape in the surroundings of Taylors Hill is best to explore and enjoy by bike. Whether you like to ride alone or are looking for some family fun, the hotel’s experienced guides will take you off the beaten track with breathtaking views that will inspire you to pedal on.

– Short riding trail – 1km to 5km – 1 hour

– Medium riding trail – 5km to 10km – 1 to 2 hours

– Adventure riding trail – 10km to 15km – 2-3 hours

 

THE KANDY EXCURSION

To round out all things tea, head to the Ceylon Tea Museum which holds important memorabilia and archives of James Taylor and other pioneers. Enjoy a stop at the impressive Botanical Gardens which is home to both rare and tropical flora and fauna, then take a leisurely stroll. End the experience with a spot lunch at the hotel’s own Empire Café.
