When you arrive in Paro your guide will welcome you to Bhutan, after which you’ll be taken to your hotel in Thimphu Valley. Once you’re all settled, you can kick off your exploration with a visit to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, and drive up to BBS Tower for a magnificent aerial view of the valley.
You’ll continue exploring Thimphu, with visits to the National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Temple, Drubthob Monastery, and School of Arts and Crafts. You’ll also learn about the art of traditional paper making at the Traditional Paper Factory.
You’ll cross the Dochula Mountain Pass and make your way to Punakha Valley, stopping by Druk Wangyel Chorten before arriving at the majestic Punakha Dzong.
Get ready for a traditional Bhutanese wedding performed by local monks at Chimi lhakhang, the “Fertility Temple,” where you’ll get blessed with happiness, togetherness, long life, and wealth. After the ceremony, you’ll head back to the hotel to continue the celebration.
Make your way back to Paro through the picturesque road, stopping at the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.
Explore Paro’s rich history with a trip to the National Museum and the Rimpong Dzong, or you can also spend the day at Haa Valley, one of Bhutan’s most picturesque districts.
You’ll hike up Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. One of the holiest sites in Bhutan, it’s found on a cliffside 900 metres above Paro Valley. After that, you also visit the Drukgyal Dzong ruins before returning to Paro for a free evening.
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the airport and bid you ‘Tashi delek!’ for your onward flight.
