vacation in a Villa at Dutch House Bandarawela

Share

Constructed along the lines of the early 18th century Cape Dutch bungalows, the Dutch House is a tastefully designed two-story villa. Set on an expansive garden filled with fruit trees and flowering plants that attract many birds, it has been a highly-praised boutique property which encompasses a distinct local feel with the use of locally sourced antiques, art and soft furnishings.

The villa features a satin wood and ebony staircase, boarded floors and a spacious veranda that lets you take in the mountainous scenery. The Dutch House also offers well-appointed bedrooms, Sri Lankan cuisine and an informal and relaxing ambience, with 24-hour butler service and a chef on site. Accommodating up to four guests, the property is ideal for couples, friends travelling together and families with children over the age of 10. Rooms can be reserved individually or the villa can be hired as a whole.

With Bandarawela being famous for some of the best fruits and vegetables in the country, you are certainly in for a treat. The villa staff are passionate about local cuisine and encourage guests to savour the decadence of an authentic rice and curry. Browse through the Sri Lankan cookbooks lining the shelf in the pantry and request a dish of your choice or if you are craving for something entirely different our Chef will be happy to tailor make your meals to your desire. Whether it is a deliciously spiced Sri Lankan curry, a hearty Western favourite or a refreshing salad, only the freshest seasonal ingredients are selected from the daily market. Breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner may be served on the veranda, garden or in the cosy dining room.
